Senior Year Parking - Application and Requirements- overdue
Applications for senior campus parking for the 24-25 school year can be submitted after Monday, May 13, 2024. The application window is open from May 13 to June 13 2024.
Completing the application does not guarantee parking. Payment for parking will not go live until all applications are reviewed and parking is approved.
In order for a student to be eligible for the student parking lottery, the following need to be completed:
- Watch the entirety of the Junior Safety Night video HERE*
- Review the parking regulations here. Scroll down to see them.
- Fill out this quiz after watching the video - Satisfactory completion is a requirement for parking eligibility.
- Have your parent/guardian complete Parking Application Workflow.
- Confirm you have paid your Cap & Gown Fee and completed your graduation packet.
- After approval, you must pay the parking fee, electronically on the website.
- Clear all student obligations.
* A special side note...if you want to guarantee a parking spot, you should consider partnering with another student to share a spot. This would need to be indicated on both students’ applications. All other individual entries will go through the regular lottery process. See Mrs. Long with any questions on sharing a spot.

Parking Rules
Please visit the link below to view the parking rules that were reviewed at the parking meeting at the beginning of the school year. Remember, parking is a privilege, not a right, so please follow the rules so you don't lose your parking privilege!

Senior Portraits
For the 2024-2025 school year, the school has contracted with a new photographer for senior portraits and yearbook photos. The Board of Education went through a competitive bidding process to obtain the best competitive contract for the school. At its meeting on July 1st, the Board of Education approved Normandy Studio to be the new photography company.
Normandy Studio will be taking senior portraits between August 6th and August 16th, and August 19th and 20th, in Cafe001 at Central. Use the following link to schedule an appointment for senior portraits: https://booknow.appointment-plus.com/9z1sng0m/?e_id=36997.
Please see the following document for more information about senior portrait sessions:
Senior Portrait Appointments - English, Spanish
We prefer that you use Normandy Studio for senior portraits as they work directly with Jostens, who prints the Hunterdon Central yearbook. As we understand that some of you may have already scheduled senior portraits with other studios, the yearbook staff will accept senior portraits from another studio as long as they meet Jostens specifications for the yearbook.
Senior Privilege - Late Arrival / Early Out
Seniors who have a scheduled block 1 or block 4 study hall may be permitted to request approval to sign in at the end of block 1 or sign out at the end of block 3. Classes will not be adjusted or changed to accommodate students’ preference for this option.
For late arrival, students must report to the Commons Entrance between 8:50 AM and 9:00 AM daily for attendance and to check for passes. Any student who accrues more than 5 unexcused tardies to Block 2 may forfeit his/her late arrival and be scheduled for a B1 study hall.
To be eligible for "Early Out/Late Arrival", 12th grade students:
- must make an appointment with their school counselor and secure appropriate approval paperwork, which is sent via school email
- must have earned a minimum of 100 credits by the end of the 11th grade
- must be enrolled in courses approved by their counselor that ensure eligibility for graduation
- must be scheduled for at least 30 credits
- will be subject to guidelines pertaining to student-athlete eligibility for the sports seasons
- will be responsible for their own transportation to and from school
- will not be guaranteed student parking privileges
- must obtain written permission from parent/guardian
College and Careers
College & Career Services hosts college visits, discussion groups, presentations, and small group workshops on the college admissions process, resume writing, and performing a college search. Students can work with Scoir, a software program offering a wide range of college search tools, career assessments and admissions data based on Hunterdon Central alumni.
College and career programs are held throughout the year to assist students and families with the planning process. Several evening programs have been developed for parents/guardians that present information specifically related to college admissions. Most of these programs are also taped and available on Hunterdon Central Television's Youtube Channel.
Mrs Jennifer Nuechterlein at:jnuechte@hcrhs.org is our dedicated College & Career Counselor. More information can be found on the College & Career Services Web Page.

Graduate families may register for 5 tickets, which may be used for an outside ceremony on Stewart Field. No additional tickets will be available. In the event of inclement weather resulting in an indoor ceremony, only 2 tickets per graduate family may be used.
Detailed information about E-tickets will be sent to parents and students prior to the opening of E-ticket registration in June of 2025.
Parking and Shuttle Services
On-site parking for graduation is extremely limited. Graduates and their guests are encouraged to use off-site parking and shuttle bus service to and from Hunterdon Central.
Parking and shuttles are free of charge, and riders need only to show a graduation ticket or their cap/gown to ride. Off-site parking will be available at:
- 3M Company (500 Route 202, Flemington). Use the Route 202 entrance and park in the lot to the left, as you enter the property. All guests who live on this end of town are encouraged to use the 3M location.
- Hunterdon County Justice Complex Juror Parking Lot (entrance is off Capner Street in Flemington)
Please be aware that these businesses are open on graduation day, so be sure to park in designated areas:
Shuttles will begin to depart the off-site parking lots at 8:30 AM and will run continuously until 9:45 AM for the 10:00 AM graduation ceremony.
In the case of a delayed ceremony at 1:00 PM, shuttles will begin to depart from the off-site parking lots at 11:30 AM and run continuously until 12:45 PM.
Return shuttles will operate after the ceremony from the drop off point (Transportation Building/Bus Parking Lot) to the off-site parking lots. Shuttles will begin to leave once the bus is full, after the completion of the ceremony, and will continue to operate until all riders are returned to the off-site lots.
Shuttles cannot transport babies/infants, car seats or strollers.
Please note: Due to pedestrian traffic, the campus inner-roadway will be closed on Graduation Day. Graduates are not permitted to park on campus; they should be dropped off or take the shuttle. Please plan accordingly.

If a family member needs to accompany and sit with an individual requiring special seating, please order a “handicap” ticket for yourself. Please note that only two tickets will be issued for each graduate.
The IMC will also be open with additional seating to watch the live stream during the ceremony.

Live Stream and Video Information
Graduation will be live streamed on Hunterdon Central Television Live.
Replay will also be aired on Comcast Channel 27 beginning on the evening of (TBD) and posted on Hunterdon Central's YouTube Channel.
Inclement Weather Plan
Every attempt will be made to have an outdoor ceremony. If the weather forecast calls for a light rain with no thunder/lightning in the morning, we will hold graduation outdoors at 10:00 AM. In this event, please dress appropriately and bring umbrellas, in order to be comfortable during the outdoor ceremony.
If there are more severe weather conditions with thunder/lightning in the morning, we will postpone the ceremony until 1:00 PM, in an attempt to have the ceremony outdoors. However, if severe weather conditions persist and an outdoor ceremony is impossible, the graduation ceremony will be held indoors at 1:00 PM with a limit of two guests. Two of the tickets for outdoors will be reassigned as indoor tickets - no action will be required of the family to convert to indoor tickets.
We will notify families by phone, school messenger and the website if weather conditions cause us to implement any aspect of this inclement weather plan.
