Special Education

The Special Services Department seeks to provide all students with inclusive educational opportunities. We believe that each student has a unique and necessary role to play in living out the American Dream.

Please note: According to N.J.A.C. 6A:14-3.3, Hunterdon Central is responsible for locating, identifying and evaluating for a potential disability any child age 13 to 21 residing in the district.

Potentially disabled children include those students who may be disabled due to physical, sensory, emotional, communication, cognitive or social difficulties. These requirements apply to students attending non-public schools and to highly mobile students with disabilities, such as migrant and homeless students, and to students who may be disabled even though they are advancing from grade to grade.

If eligible, students may qualify for special education and related services. If you feel your high school age child has a disabling condition, please contact Hunterdon Central's Special Services Department at 908 284-7331 or 908 284-7330.
