All Hunterdon Central Students are issued a district-provided Chromebook when they enter as an active student. This device provides connectivity to the Google for Education suite that is utilized in our classrooms.

It is recommended that all students use their district-provided Chromebook, instead of personal devices, to ensure consistent curricular participation. In addition, some testing and assessments may require the use of the Google Chromebook.

An HCRHS Acceptable Use Agreement along with a Device Voucher form must be completed in Genesis. Students are responsible for the care of their issued device.

Insurance against physical damage or loss is optional.  This program is offered each school year and must be renewed annually to ensure continued coverage.  Optional Insurance is available by signing up in Genesis and providing payment to the Business Office.  A copy of the form is provided here.

For families who may choose not to have a Chromebook issued to their student(s), or who prefer to use a personal device, the District continues to offer “Guest” wireless access that supports a “Bring Your Own Device” (BYOD) option.

The Central Hub is a walk up support resources for all students and staff.  We are located in the IMC and available daily from 7:20am to 2:50pm.  

We know the importance of having a working device and are committed to making sure that no student leaves the Central Hub without a clear solution or fixed device.

The Central Hub is staffed by our IT Department members as well as student volunteers and in-class interns. Students may choose a Technology Internship from the program of studies for a 1.25 credit work experience.  Interns and volunteers may have opportunities to apply for paid summer work with the IT Department.  Interested students should stop by the Central Hub to speak to an IT Department Member and learn more about the program.

We use an incident tracking system to manage and track all technology issues.  Please see the links to the right on this page to submit a request for support.

Our Database Services team members provide support for critical systems, including student management, learning management, and staff, library, phone and professional development systems.

Database Services handles all database requests including Genesis, the Student Information System.

As a large district, Hunterdon Central runs on a complex technical infrastructure including network, telephone, wireless, and other hardware systems. Some areas of support include:
