Technology
The Instructional Technology Department is here to help both students and staff reach their full potential by making the most of technology. Our team is dedicated to offering support and guidance, ensuring everyone can effectively use the tech resources available in our district.
Here’s what we offer:
- Technical Support: We handle all aspects of wired and wireless networks and devices.
- Database Services: We maintain essential systems like student management, learning management, library, phone, and professional development systems.
Our team works closely with teachers, students and district administrative staff, incorporating their feedback into our policies and workflows. This collaboration ensures that our services are always improving and meeting everyone’s needs.
We also provide extensive training for teachers on the latest technology and teaching tools. Our professional development offerings keep educators up-to-date with new advancements in both technology and teaching methods.
In support of our one-to-one student computing model, we manage both school-issued devices (Chromebooks) and personal computers (BYOD) on our guest network. This helps us keep up with the fast-paced world of technology and ensures everyone has access to the resources they need.

Annual Chromebook Insurance
At the start of each school year, families are invited to purchase optional insurance to cover the cost of accidental damage to the school issued Chromebook. The program is administered through the HCRHS Central Office.
The cost of the plan is $30.00 and is valid for coverage on one device.
Plan Coverage:
- The District determines whether a device is repairable or must be replaced, based on the extent of damage.
- Repair or replacement is the responsibility of the District. Student/Family is not authorized to perform repair/replacement. Violations of this condition result in termination of the insurance plan.
- Plan covers only one replacement due to damage or loss. If a device replacement is necessary, the device is covered and the plan terminates.
- In the case of a replacement, Student/Family may purchase an additional plan on the new device within seven days of issuance. Additional plans will be issued at a cost of $30.00 for one device for the remainder of the school year, through June 30. Additional plans are not pro-rated.
