Program of Studies & Scheduling Information for Incoming Freshman

Online Scheduling & Course Selection for current 8th graders is scheduled to begin on February 17, 2021 and will run through February 22, 2021.

We suggest that you begin to familiarize yourself with our course selection process by first watching the video Program of Studies Orientation for 8th Grade Parents.

Our online Program of Studies includes detailed course descriptions and videos for every department at Hunterdon Central, as well as general academic information about the high school. You can find it on our website, here:

Program of Studies

Or, click on the link 2021-2022 Program of Studies on the left side of this webpage.

You can find specific information about all electives that are available to incoming freshman here: Freshman Electives

Or, click on the link on the left side of this webpage.

We would particularly like to direct your attention to information about the Magnet Programs here at Hunterdon Central. These offer students an opportunity to pursue specialized programs that empower them to focus on a particular passion or career area. Each program consists of a cohesive series of three of four courses and includes opportunities for dual enrollment, articulated college credit, an industry-valued credential, or both. You can learn more about these powerful learning opportunities - which are available to incoming freshmen - on our Magnet Program Webpage.

After watching reading the course descriptions and watching the videos, if you have any questions about courses or opportunities in any of our departments, we encourage you to contact our department supervisors. You can find their contact information here: Contact Information for Supervisors

Detailed information on our online scheduling process, including timelines, detailed instructions, videos, and a link to the registration site, is posted on our Online Scheduling Webpage.

Please note that a letter with student login credentials for Aspen, our student information system, will be mailed to each student's household in early February. You'll need that information to complete our online scheduling process, as well as for future access to your child's school information.

We want to reassure you that we are here to help you and your child choose the best possible path to academic success and fulfillment. We also look forward to meeting you here at the high school, and we will be sending calendar dates with information on events and activities when we can welcome you and your child to our campus.

If you have any questions during the scheduling process, please email: scheduling@hcrhs.org
