Course selection and online scheduling for the 2023-2024 school year at Hunterdon Central takes place during the month of February. We are beginning the process of providing information on course offerings and scheduling opportunities to 8th graders who will be joining us in September 2023. Please keep reading for detailed information.

We're excited to tell you about the learning opportunities that we offer your children and want to ensure that you're receiving complete and detailed information about all the possibilities. We've created a series of videos that provide detailed information on our course offerings in each academic department. We've also created a video that gives a summary of information that we think will be valuable as you begin to choose courses and create a schedule for your child.

You can choose which videos to view, pause and jot down pertinent questions, and then contact us directly for individual information that will help you choose courses for your child.

Online Scheduling & Course Selection for current 8th graders is scheduled to begin on February 15, 2023, and run through February 19, 2023, so you have ample time to review the information and contact your child's current counselor, our counseling services department, or our department supervisors.

To start the process, we suggest that you begin to familiarize yourself with our course selection program by first watching the video Program of Studies Introduction for Current 8th Grade Students.

As you watch the video, we encourage you to jot down any questions or comments and contact us with these. We'll be happy to help.

To contact Counseling Services, please send questions and comments to: scheduling@hcrhs.org.

Each of our department supervisors has also created a video describing the course selections in their academic departments, as well as some choices to consider as you plan your child's academic program. These videos are posted on each department's webpage in our Program of Studies, but for easy reference and viewing, here are direct links to each department's video:

Or, from our Homepage, click on "Quicklinks" then "Program of Studies".

You can find specific information about all electives that are available to incoming freshmen here: 2023-2024 Freshman Electives

Detailed information on our online scheduling process will be sent to you in a separate email as we move closer to the dates for scheduling. However, if you'd like to take a look at the process you'll be using, you can view it on our Online Scheduling Webpage.

Both the Program of Studies and Online Scheduling webpages can be accessed from our Homepage. Click on Quicklinks to find the links.

On or about Wednesday, January 25, 2023, families will receive an email communication from noreply@hcrhs.org with their Aspen login credentials. These credentials are necessary to login to Aspen and enter online course requests, so it's important to save this email for your records. Families will be sent a physical mailing to their home address if a primary email is not listed in contact information or if our email bounces back.  Please check your Spam folder for this email if you do not receive it in your inbox by the end of the week, January 28, 2023.

Finally, we want to reassure you that we are here to help you and your child choose the best possible path to academic success and fulfillment. We also look forward to meeting you here at the high school, and we will be sending calendar dates with information on events and activities when we can welcome you and your child to our campus.

We hope this information is helpful. Let us know if you need any further assistance.
