Dear Parent/Guardian,

It is with great pride and anticipation that we welcome you and your family to Hunterdon Central. We are looking forward to partnering with you over the next four years on a mission to ensure that your child has the opportunity to develop passions, pursue interests, and have choices in our educational program.

We have orientation activities planned for you and your child that will give you an opportunity to visit the high school, meet staff, and connect with classmates prior to the first day of school on September 6. We hope you and your child will be able to attend these orientation activities. Students who cannot attend orientation will be able to pick up their Chromebooks at the Circulation Desk in the IMC on August 31, from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM. These students will also have their ID pictures taken during the first weeks of school. A message with details will be sent to all students who do not attend.

Parent/Guardian Orientation and New Student Social

Monday, August 29, 7:00 PM
Auditorium and 9/10 Campus (Route 31 Entrance)

Parents will learn about Central and meet the staff who will be working with the Class of 2026. This meeting will introduce parents to our culture and basic procedures and is an excellent introduction to the high school. To ensure sufficient seating, we encourage only one parent/guardian per student. This is for parents/guardians only.

While the parents are in the auditorium, freshman students are invited to a New Student Social. There will be music, activities, and refreshments. Members of various clubs will also be present. Students attending the social should arrive with their parents/guardians at the Auditorium entrance; student ambassadors will direct them to the location of the festivities.

Freshman and New Student Orientation

Tuesday, August 30, 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM
Hunterdon Central Campus

This session helps students become familiar with the high school and takes care of some "new student business". Parents/guardians must provide transportation to/from the high school. Students should be dropped off between 8:05 AM and 8:25 AM at either the main parking lot off Route 31 (Lot G) or the parking lot off of Junction Road by the tennis courts (Lot E). Pick-up locations for after 12:30 PM can be coordinated between each student and their ride at any location on campus. The student orientation includes:

  • Staff presentations from the Principal, Vice Principal, School Counselors, House Secretary, Supervisor of Athletics, and other supporting staff
  • Distribution of academic schedules
  • Campus "walk your schedule" to locate classrooms
  • Meet and greet with students involved in various clubs and activities
  • Individual school ID/student yearbook photos
  • Distribution of Chromebook and login credentials

We look forward to meeting our newest members of the school community. Please let us know if you have any special needs or concerns.
