The FAFSA
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is a form that must be filled out in order to determine eligibility for federal student aid. In addition, most states and colleges use information from the FAFSA to award non-federal aid.

Beginning with the Class of 2025, parents/guardians must complete a form in Genesis indicating if they will be filling out the FAFSA or completing a waiver (waiver is also available in Genesis) - this is a graduation requirement per the state.
If you need additional assistance with filling out the FAFSA, or require technical help, please call the Federal Student Aid Information Center at 1-800-4-FED-AID (1-800-433-3243). There is also "Live Help" within the pages of the FAFSA and a contact page on the FAFSA website to submit inquiries:

HESAA
For many years, the New Jersey Higher Education Student Assistance Authority (HESAA) has prepared a Student Loan Guide to be distributed to New Jersey high school students.
