2019-2020 Back to School Information

The 2019-2020 school year begins on Wednesday, September 4. Classes at Hunterdon Central begin at 7:35 AM.

ACTIVITY BUSES:

Activity buses run Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, and depart from the Commons Parking Lot at 3:55 PM. Students must sign up daily, via computers. Activity buses begin on Thursday, September 12, 2019.

DAILY BELL SCHEDULES:

DRESS CODE:

Hunterdon Central's dress code contains regulations on how students should dress for school. Students who are dressed inappropriately will receive one warning. Subsequent violations will result in disciplinary consequences for students; parents will be called to pick up the student from school or bring a change of clothes.

FERPA Information

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy act (FERPA) requires that Hunterdon Central, with certain exceptions, obtain your written consent prior to disclosing personally identifiable information from your child's educational records. However, the District is allowed to disclose appropriately designated "directory information" without written consent, unless you have advised us to the contrary. It is essential that information on Student Health Emergency Cards be submitted to Hunterdon Central by August 17, 2018. This year, information must be updated/submitted electronically. For complete details, please go to:

Safe Homes:

Hunterdon County Safe Communities Coalition, in conjunction with interested parents, community agencies and local law enforcement, invites you to participate in the Safe Homes Initiative, a program of invaluable support for teenagers and their families. This is a national initiative designed to coordinate pledges from local families who agree to host only supervised, drug and alcohol-free gatherings for teens at their homes.

SMOKE FREE CAMPUS:

Hunterdon Central Regional High School is a totally smoke-free environment. No smoking will be permitted on campus at any time, anywhere, at any event.

STUDENT ACCIDENT INSURANCE:

The Board of Education provides a secondary student accident insurance policy for all students. The agent is Bob McCloskey Insurance. Your family health policy provides primary coverage, and all claims must be submitted to that company first.

STUDENT HANDBOOK:

The Student Handbook for 2019-2020 will be posted as soon as it is available.

During the first week of school, students will be shown how to access the Handbook, and will be required to sign a form indicating that they have been shown how to access the Handbook online and are responsible for its contents.

Parents/Guardians will have access to the Student Handbook on this website and through their Aspen parent login, and will be directed to indicate their awareness of the handbook via the Aspen parent login.

STUDENT SCHEDULES:

On the first day of school, students will receive their course schedules in their assigned Alpha Homerooms. Students must follow this schedule. Students may make an appointment to see their counselors if there is a course missing or an error has occurred in course placement for First Semester.

TECHNOLOGY ACCEPTABLE USE POLICY:

Please note that in order to use the technology at Hunterdon Central, each student must abide by the Student Network/Internet Agreement.

STUDENT PICTURES:

  • Grade 9 and new student pictures will be taken during orientations on August 28.
  • Grade 10 student pictures will be on September 6
  • Grade 11 student pictures will be taken on September 9
  • Students who are unable to attend orientation, and whose last names begin with the letters A-L, will have pictures taken on September 6.
  • Students who are unable to attend orientation, and whose last names begin with the letters M-Z, will have pictures taken on September 9.

Photos taken will be used for student ID's and yearbook photos.
