Policies & Procedures

Circulation Policy & Fines

Materials may be checked out from the IMC either for three weeks or on an overnight basis (materials that are being used daily for classes, reserved items, current magazines). Fines are charged for overdue items:

3 week materials: 10 cents per day

Students must have an ID(permanent or temporary) to check out materials.

Excessively overdue books or fines (over 1 month) will result in a suspension of borrowing privileges until the obligation is cleared.

Study Halls & Independent Study

Students will report to study hall first for attendance. With a signed IMC study hall pass, 5 students for each 1/2 block (10 total per block) are welcome to visit the IMC provided that they will be working on assignments. Students must remain for the entire half block.

Independent study students should sign in at the circulation desk.

Bus Passes

At the beginning of tutorial, students should sign in at the circulation desk if they need a buss pass from the IMC staff. Students are required to remain in the IMC for tutorial until 2:50pm. There will be a check-in time where students will need to present their ID.

Students who are in the IMC for teacher tutorial or a club meeting will receive bus passes from their teacher or advisor.

Food & Drink

Students and staff can enjoy beverages with covered tops. However, there is no eating in the IMC.

Cell Phones

Students can talk on cell phones in the "IMC Cell Phone Zone" (located by the exit doors) during UL or after school. During UL and after school, students may use their phones to text only.

The IMC follows the school-wide policy on cell phone use. Students may use cell phones for educational purposes at the discretion of their teacher.

Quiet Study Areas

In order to ensure a pleasant and productive environment for study and research, the IMC has designated several Quiet Study Areas (front/new section, the magazine section, and the computer lab).
