Academics

Hunterdon Central is committed to providing a diverse and in-depth curriculum, developed to meet the needs of every student in the regional high school district.

Hunterdon Central offers an academically rigorous curriculum, with robust opportunities to challenge students over their high school career as they work towards achieving their potential. Students will develop their passions and have choices in their educational programming.

Our goal is to produce responsible, caring, and ethical citizens who value self development, think critically about issues, communicate and collaborate effectively, apply academic knowledge to authentic situations, and display mastery of curriculum as defined by the State of New Jersey.

To achieve this, Hunterdon Central has committed to developing programs and initiatives that promote student learning and academic success, leading to both college and career readiness. Hunterdon Central ensures equitable access to the curriculum for all students, with robust opportunities to challenge themselves over their high school career, as they work towards achieving their potential.

Hunterdon Central also offers alternative pathways to academic success, created to offer additional and varied options for academic achievement, developed to fulfill the needs and requirements of a diverse student population. Students have opportunities to pursue academic credit through Option II, dual enrollment college credits, and magnet programs.

The high school follows academic procedures and processes outlined in the Student Handbook and distributed to every student at the beginning of each school year. It contains Hunterdon Central's academic processes and procedures, such as academic conduct and intellectual integrity, co-curricular eligibility, course changes, course withdrawals, grading scale, graduation requirements, etc.
