News
Dear Parents, Guardians, Students, Faculty and Community Members:
Happy warm weather! As a point of introduction, my name is Charles Shaddow and I have been selected by the Hunterdon Central Regional High School Board of Education to serve as the Interim Superintendent of Schools until such time that a permanent superintendent is appointed.
During my years in public education I have served as a teacher, department chair, consultant teacher, assistant principal, and principal in both urban and suburban communities. Most recently I served as the Superintendent of the North Hunterdon-Voorhees Regional High School District for 17 years and as the Interim Superintendent of South Hunterdon during the early months of the Covid outbreak.
I have been meeting with many individuals and will continue to do so to learn first-hand how well we are achieving our school goals. I look forward to working with our Board of Education and all stakeholders in each of our communities to provide the finest educational experiences possible for all of our students in a safe, nurturing and excellent environment.
In closing, I want to thank you for your continued involvement and support of our efforts on behalf of your children.
Sincerely,
Charles M. Shaddow, Ph.D.
Interim Superintendent
A message from the Hunterdon Central Board of Education
Dear Hunterdon Central Community,
We are pleased to announce that we have selected Dr. Charles Michael Shaddow to be the interim superintendent of Hunterdon Central Regional High School District. We will vote to appoint Dr. Shaddow to the position at our board meeting on March 18th, and he will assume the role on April 1st.
Dr. Shaddow is an experienced and visionary leader who has served as the superintendent of North Hunterdon-Voorhees Regional High School District for 17 years, and interim superintendent for South Hunterdon Regional High School District in 2020. He has a strong record of academic excellence, fiscal responsibility, and community engagement. He holds a doctorate in educational administration from Kent State University, a master's degree in teaching from John Carroll University, and a bachelor's degree in history from Rider College. He is also a former teacher and principal.
Dr. Shaddow is looking forward to working with the students, staff, parents, and stakeholders of Hunterdon Central to continue the tradition of excellence and innovation that has made our district one of the best in the state and the nation. He will be visiting our campus and meeting with various groups in the coming weeks to learn more about our needs, strengths, and goals.
We would also like to take this opportunity to thank Dr. Jeffrey Moore for his outstanding service as our superintendent for the past seven years. Dr. Moore has led our district through many challenges and achievements, and he has always put the best interests of our students and staff first. We wish him all the best in his future endeavors.
Finally, we would like to express our gratitude for everyone’s patience while we identified Dr. Shaddow as our interim superintendent. We look forward to engaging with the Hunterdon Central community for your support and involvement as we conduct a thorough and transparent search for a permanent superintendent. In the meantime, we are confident that Dr. Shaddow’s extensive experience and familiarity with Hunterdon County will allow him to quickly become part of the Hunterdon Central community.
Sincerely,
The Hunterdon Central Board of Education
