On Monday, May 25, we pause to honor the American men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice to preserve our freedoms. Please take a moment to watch this video, originally made on Veteran's Day. Junior Parents & Students ... Save the Date!

Hunterdon Central will host Virtual Junior Safety Nights on June 9, 10, and 11 this year. This webinar is designed and encouraged for all current juniors, but those who wish to apply for a parking spot on campus next year must attend. A parent/guardian must also watch the webinar with the junior student. Specific viewing information will be sent via email as we approach the dates.

Changes to School Year Calendar

At May 18, 2020 Board meeting, our Board of Education approved a calendar update that places this year’s two unused emergency days at the end of the school year. As a result, the last day of school for students will be Thursday, June 18, instead of Monday, June 22.

We’re planning to hold our Virtual Graduation Ceremony on the evening of Friday, June 19. More information on our virtual ceremony, and other events, will be shared soon.

We were extremely disappointed that performances of our musical, Evita, had to be canceled this year, due to school closures. Unfortunately, the extended closure has made it impossible to reschedule performances, as we originally hoped. We are providing the following instructions that will enable you to obtain a refund for any advance tickets you may have purchased:

Graduation 2020:

On Friday evening, May 8, schools in New Jersey received a directive from the state government to limit graduation to virtual ceremonies only. The directive cited Governor Murphy's executive orders requiring social distancing and school closure and an order from the Office of Emergency Management that further clarifies restrictions on gatherings and activities at schools.

As we reach the end of the first week in May - Mental Health Month - we are sharing a conversation Dr. Moore had with Frank Picone from the Center for Great Expectations. Mr. Picone recently completed training sessions with groups of our parents, focusing on fostering resiliency and dealing with challenging emotions. During this conversation, he offered powerful advice and guidance, not only on dealing with children’s emotions, but on being truly good to ourselves. It's “must see TV”. Pre-packaged breakfasts and lunches are provided at no cost to eligible students during the emergency school closure and are available for pickup at locations throughout our region. If you are experiencing a financial hardship, you may want to apply for free and reduced meals for your Hunterdon Central student. The meal program application is available here. If you need an application mailed to your home, simply leave a message with your student’s name and address at 908-284-7110.

Today, Governor Murphy announced that schools in New Jersey would remain closed for the rest of the 2019-2020 school year. The NJSIAA has decided against the resumption of spring sports.
