About HC

Located in beautiful, historic Hunterdon County in central New Jersey, Hunterdon Central Regional High School serves the five municipalities of Delaware Township, East Amwell Township, Flemington Borough, Raritan Township and Readington Township.
The District is comprised of 152.5 square miles and has a population of approximately 48,680 residents. Student enrollment for the 2024-2025 school year is approximately 2,300.
 
One of the largest, campus-style high school districts in New Jersey, Hunterdon Central occupies a 72 acre campus and includes two large general classroom buildings, along with a music/communications building, an Instructional Media Center, and 2,000 seat Fieldhouse. The music/communications building houses a TV studio and FM radio station.
 
The high school's rigorous and comprehensive academic program supports the District's mission:
Hunterdon Central is an innovative educational community dedicated to the intellectual, social, and emotional safety and growth of all students. While fostering curiosity and promoting wellness, we aspire to create powerful learning experiences, establish strong partnerships, and serve as contributing members of society.
 
The academic program is further enhanced by a co-curricular program that includes 33 interscholastic athletic teams across 18 different types of sports. Hunterdon Central strives to engage as many students as possible in student activities and offers over 90 clubs and activities including dramatics, student government, publications, service organizations, an award-winning marching band and award-winning orchestral and choral programs.
 
Hunterdon Central’s dedicated professional staff is committed to providing a rigorous and expansive academic program. In the classroom, teachers incorporate technology and instructional strategies that develop critical thinking skills, as well as content knowledge. The district offers a staff training program that has achieved state and national recognition from the National Center for Public Productivity at Rutgers University, the New Jersey Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, and the U.S. Department of Education - Professional Development National Awards. Teachers at Hunterdon Central use technology as a powerful transformative tool; curriculum and instruction feature wireless connectivity, digital multimedia devices, web publishing tools, and a wide array of subject-specific software to enhance students' comprehension and skills. Faculty and technology department staff members have also collaborated to create a forward-thinking guidance document on the use of Artificial Intelligence in education.
