Hunterdon Central will be administering the PSATs to all students in Grades 9-11 on Wednesday, October 11, 2023. The test is free of charge and will be given during the school day. Testing will begin in Block 1 and will take approximately 3 hours.

PSAT 9:

The PSAT 9 will be administered to all 9th-grade students. Students do not need to register for the test or take any action. Students with College Board-approved accommodations will test with those accommodations on October 11. The PSAT 9 is an important tool for all students and can help teachers pinpoint areas for student improvement. It is also the first exam in the College Board's SAT Assessments, provides a first experience taking this type of standardized assessment, and establishes a starting point for students who are considering college in their future plans.

PSAT/NMSQT:

The PSAT/NMSQT (Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test / National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test) will be administered to all students in Grades 10 and 11. The PSAT/NMSQT is an excellent diagnostic tool, provides real-time/real-place experience of a standardized assessment similar to the SAT, and is the qualifying test for National Merit Corporation scholarship opportunities for Juniors.

Students do not need to register for the test or take any action. Students with College Board-approved accommodations will test with those accommodations on October 11. Information regarding test rooms will be shared the week prior to the testing date. |

Why take the digital PSAT/NMSQT?

The digital PSAT/NMSQT offers you a chance to get familiar with the digital SAT and to practice taking the test. This can help students reduce anxiety and save time on digital SAT test day. All SATs will be digital starting March 2024.

How to Prepare:

There are a few practice options available to students before test day.

• Access Bluebook™ for the following practice resources: (This application has been automatically downloaded to your school-issued device)
  • Test Preview: A short set of untimed questions lets students experience digital testing and try out the tools. Students will not receive scores or any feedback on their answers.
  • Full-Length Practice: These tests are timed like a real test, except students can move forward from one section to the next before time expires. Full-length practice scores will be available in Bluebook on My Practice. A College Board account or Sign-In Ticket login credentials are needed to access Bluebook. Students can use either for My Practice too.
• Official Digital SAT Prep on Khan Academy will customize practice for students, identifying specific goals and giving them practice questions with full explanations.

• Paper practice tests are available for students who will be testing with accommodations that require a paper format, or for students who are just looking for additional sample questions.

Score Release:

Scores are provided based on when students test and submit their answers.

• Test and submit by October 14: Scores will be released to the K–12 reporting portal on November 2 and to the student reporting portal on November 6.

How to Access Your Scores

• View your score on BigFuture School. If you provided your mobile number on test day, you'll receive a text message with access to the BigFuture School mobile app.
• As always, you may view your scores online if you have a personal College Board account.
